WordPress Author Profile Pages Returning 404 Errors

  Hi everyone,

  I’m experiencing an issue on my WordPress website where some author profile pages are suddenly returning 404 errors.

  One specific profile, audrey lecrone, used to work perfectly, but now the page either shows a “Page Not Found” error or redirects to the homepage unexpectedly.

  So far, I’ve tried the following:

  • Re-saving the permalink structure
  • Clearing website and browser cache
  • Disabling recently installed plugins
  • Switching to a default WordPress theme
  • Checking user roles and author settings
  • Updating WordPress and all plugins

  The strange part is that the issue only affects certain author pages while others continue to work normally.

  Has anyone encountered a similar problem before?

  Is there a reliable way to identify whether this is caused by a plugin conflict, permalink issue, or a database problem?

  Any troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  We can’t help as that site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform – https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/https://www.audreylecrone.com – Wix even doesn’t use wordpress at all. You must contact wix support.
