WordPress blog posts creating errors in Google Search Console

  • Unknown's avatar

Hey there! Reaching out because we’re getting a ton of errors on Google Search Console because of how WordPress is categorizing our blog posts and saying they are ‘products’ and have a missing ‘name.’ The error says, ‘Missing field ‘name’.’

This is for dirtbagdreams.com – not linked to my account…wasn’t able to login through our admin account for some reason. We post reviews on outdoor gear all the time and we do have a format set to display product info in a tile at the top, but there’s no reason it should be coming up with this error. We asked our development team and they said this was due to an error on your end perhaps? Can you help us figure out what the issue is here?

    Thanks!
    Kelly

  • Hi Kelly,

The site dirtbagdreams.com is no longer hosted on WordPress.com so we can’t help with this.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites hosted elsewhere; we can only assist with sites hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
    https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.

You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.

http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.
