WordPress.com desktop app – log-in refer doesn’t work

  Hi all,
  since a few weeks I’m unable to use the WordPress.com desktop app to access my sites. Log-in via Jetpack mobile app works fine, also the normal URL via wp-admin. But of course I’d prefer to use the Desktop app, as it is much more user friendly.
  So when I start the app, it says “Log-In, Authorize WordPress.com to get started”. I press the button, it refers to the WordPress.com log-in page – and the log-in there works fine. It says “Authorized – the App will now open to complete authentication”. But that does not happen, when I return to the app, I would need to click the log-in button again and I get into a loop.
  
  What I already did: App is on the newest version. I deleted the cookies. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I set “allow pop-ups” to “yes” for the WordPress.com site. I “discussed” it with the AI support.
  Any additional help?
