WordPress.com hit counter not advancing

    I have read numerous articles / help chats online, but none address the problem. I’m using wordpress.com, and my hit counter (blog stats) has not increased the number of hits in several years. I tried deleting and re-adding, but it comes back to the same number. How do I install a ‘free’ counter that actually counts visits other than Blog Stats? Thanks!

    Hi there,

    Are you speaking of the view count under Visits in your site sidebar?

    That is updating correctly for me – I viewed a few pages on your site and then forced a cache refresh for your site, and it increased with the number of pages I’d viewed, so everything appears to be working on my end.

    Note that widget content is cached, so the counter won’t increase immediately someone views your site, but only once your site’s cache refreshes, which usually happens every hour or so.
