wordpress design only, not hosting, just yet…

    I have a domain and a website, but wish to redesign my site, using wordpress template, keep my webhost provider. All I want is a wordpress templates. Do I have to ‘take down’ my present site to work up a new wordpress design?

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Not at all. Plenty of folks stage new sites while keeping old sites up and going. You’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here, and just go “live” when your new one is ready.

    I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
    https://wordpress.com/plans

    Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can connect or transfer the domain.
