WordPress desktop app for Mac

  Hello everyone, it’s been a few weeks since I downloaded the WordPress app for mac but every time I open it, a message always pops up: “Unable to connect to WordPress.com. Try again?”. I pressed try again so MANY times but it still wouldn’t budge! Hope someone could help me on this. Thanks!

  Hi there,

  Has it been doing that from the start? Or were you able to at least log in at some point?

  When last did you completely restart your Mac? Please try that – a problem in the connection cache could be causing this and a full reboot should flush that out. Also unplug your modem/router for a few seconds and then restart to flush its cache as well.

  Hi there,

  I’m sorry for my late reply!
  No, it hasn’t been doing that from the start. I downloaded it a few months back and I was able to log in and use the app normally but it started going blank over a month ago. I always switch off my mac at the end of the day, does that count as a restart? Should I reboot my mac? Thanks

  Oh and another thing, there was a software update on my mac a few days ago. My mac was restarted then also.

  Thanks for the details. If you shut down your Mac each day that’s a full restart the next morning, yes.

  In that case, my next suggestion is to completely remove the app from your Mac, and then download and reinstall from scratch. It could be that an update to the app itself went bad, and a clear reinstall should fix that.

  Let me know if that also doesn’t work.
