WordPress Desktop App keeps opening Safari to write new posts.

    Hi,
    I have been using the desktop app the write new posts for a blog. This week I tried to use the app on my Mac book and every time I click on ‘write’ it launches the web browser.
    I prefer to have the option to write my content offline, edit it and then post it.
    I also prefer to write in the uncluttered interface of the app.
    Is there a way for me to return to using the desktop app to write my blog posts?

    (My setup = Mac Book – Big Sur OS – Latest version of the WordPress App.)

    Hi there,

    Please note that the WordPress app will only support the new block editor. If you are using the classic editor on your site, the app will redirect you to the browser, as the classic editor can only run with wp-admin and not within the app.

    If you deactivate the classic editor plugin on your site, you will be able to compose pages/posts within the app as normal, using the block editor.
