WordPress general software update

    I would like to upgrade/update my WordPress software. Other forums have said there should be an update button under “Tools,” but I don’t have one. I am not even sure what version of WordPress I have, since I initially downloaded the software a few years ago and I’m just now coming back to it. Help?

    Hi there, WordPress.com is updated automatically, so you don’t need to worry about it or do anything at all! WordPress.com is always running the latest version of the software.

    WordPress.com is different from self-hosted versions of WordPress, where you do need to keep the software up-to-date yourself.
