WordPress Hosting Activated Without My Permission

A credit card of mine was charged this week for a year’s worth of hosting without my permission. A web designer installed a Stripe plug-in to my website a few weeks ago, but it is still in ‘Test’ mode and still hosted by the webhost I have had for many years. I never signed up for WordPress to host my site. What I did do was follow a protocol of my web host to update PHP to my WordPress site, from within the control panel of my web host, last week. Why am I suddenly seeing a charge from WordPress for webhosting? I have an old blog from 2012 on WordPress on which I deleted all content, and don’t use, and have never been billed for.

We have absolutely no history of purchases, transactions, or billing activity of any kind under the account you’re currently logged into.
