wordpress image won't display as carosel

Hi I have done a blog post about a month ago and everything went smoothly and now I am trying to do another blog post, I think I have done everything in the same way but when I click on the images in a gallery it won’t open them in a carosel. In fact it won’t open the image in a new tab at all. If I go to settings- media – I have checked the box that says Display images in full-size carousel slideshow. p.s. I am not very techy sorry. Any help would be much appreciated.

This is a bug introduced with the last update of the block editor over on WordPress.org.
We’re already working on a fix for this on our end. We’ll let you know here once that’s complete.
