Hi I hired a developer to set up a website a while back and he connected my domain to his wordpress account. I have since created a new account and am having trouble connecting my new account with the domain and the old site keeps showing up on the domain. He has since given me access to the old account he used originally, but I can’t seem to disconnect the domain from the old account. The old account username is marwan.alremeithi and the new one is marwanalremeithi

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Can you tell us more about what you are trying to set up? Is see on your account now is the site https://marlegal.wordpress.com/

Are you trying to change the address of this site so that it shows up as marlegal.ae instead? I noticed that if I visit http://marlegal.ae/ now I see a different site there, one that is not hosted on WordPress.com managed hosting, but through another provider instead.

Are you trying to move the site I see at http://marlegal.ae/ now, so that it’s under your WordPress.com account instead of the site I see at https://marlegal.wordpress.com/

    Thanks for the additional info!

Hi, thank you. I am trying to connect the domain name marlegal.ae to the account has the site appearing at marlegal.wordpress.com, so that content on the wordpress site appears there instead.

    Thanks for the additional information!

The good news is that the marlegal.ae domain is already on the marlegal.wordpress.com site. The next step is to point the custom domain to the WordPress.com site.

From My Site > Domains, click on the marlegal.ae domain, navigate to the DNS records drop-down area and select Manage. From there, you’ll want to remove the custom A record of 139.144.66.116. Removing this A record will point the domain back to WordPress.com.

Once that’s done, you can set marlegal.ae as the site’s primary domain by going to Upgrades → Domains. Then, click the ellipses (three dots) across from the marlegal.ae domain, and click Make primary site address.

If you have any trouble with this or if we’ve misunderstood your request, please reach out to us again.

It also sounds like the site build of marlegal.wordpress.com is complete? Are there any other plans for the site like adding the ability to book appointments or accepting payments? Let us know as we’re more than happy to provide further tips and suggestions.
