WordPress Page, Upgrade, Themes and Plugins

  I want to incorporate a sidebar plugin and social media icons into a pre-set theme. It seems that I cannot change certain features of a theme (in my case, the Ryu Theme) to incorporate a sidebar or social media icons in the Navigation Bar vs the top pre-set widget. I was thinking of upgrading to premium to have customization capabilities, however, I’m not sure if there is a guarantee that I’ll be able to do these actions with the upgrade. I don’t want to change my current theme because a lot of work was already put into the pages and customization available and to redo all that in a new theme feels like a waste of my previous time and effort. Can someone look into this and get back to me with information?

  Hi,

  Thank you for your response. The main issue is to fix the fact that you have to scroll down to get to all the posts, as there is no easy way to access them currently because of the lacking sidebar. Any suggestions on what to do since a upgrade won’t really help?

  Oh, there are lots of workaround.

  Disable infinite scroll and set the number of posts displayed to five. Use the Recent Posts, Category, and Archives widgets. Choose a theme that has the number of sidebars you want. Use CSS editing to either move the widget area around or put the social media icons wherever you want. You need the paid Custom Design upgrade for that.
