Hi Guys.
For the last few days I have been unable to like any posts on the reader. I have done all the steps the ai told me to do, have tried various browsers, cleared cach and went incognito but it is still not working, frustrating as people are liking my stuff but I cannot return the compliment. please help.

Hi William, you’ve already done the right browser checks, so I’ve flagged this for WordPress.com staff to look at the Reader/account side.
Could you add what happens when you click Like? For example, does nothing happen, does it briefly change to “Liked” and then switch back, or do you see an error message?

Hi there THANK YOU for your quick reply.. it goes blue then turns blank again, weird things have been happening I have been getting posts on my wordpress that I have not created. thanks again.

Hi William, I can see recent public posts on your site that don’t look like they match your usual content, including web analytics and casino-related posts.
Please treat that as a site security problem, your site seems to be hosted with IONOS, reach out to their support team as soon as possible:

For your separate WordPress.com account it’s still worth changing the password if you reuse passwords or have the site connected through WordPress.com/Jetpack. Turning on two-step authentication is a good precaution too:

Hi yes its happening daily. I have already reached out to my provider and they want me to pay even more money to get a company to get rid of the malware.I am not doing this as its a disgrace. I changed my password recently to a generated one and it is very strong. I seem to have 2 accounts on wordpress when in reality I only have this one. Thanks a lot I will investigate the site hacked link.. I Don’t know where else to turn except just giving the blog up..

Hi, don’t give up on it yet, If IONOS are only offering a paid malware cleanup, you can also ask in the free WordPress.org hacked-site forum:

For now don’t close either WordPress.com account while the Reader Like problem is being checked.
Where are you seeing the second account? Is it in the WordPress.com profile menu, the Sites list, the Reader, or inside WP Admin for the IONOS-hosted site?

Hi I have managed to get rid of the malware ,thanks to you, I dowloaded a plugin called word defence and it has caught and deleted the files with malware, but I am still not able to like posts, how long does it take for someone to investigate this? I know I am not on a paid plan and this is whats causing the delay. Anyway thanks benitoalba you have been amazing.

Your free plan isn’t the reason for the wait, staff work through tagged forum threads daily, oldest first, so I can’t give an exact ETA from here.
