wordpress site not allowing upload of any files

We are trying to upload images and htm files to our race website and as of Sunday it will no longer allow us to. We have added these files hundreds of times without a problem before. Now it just states: An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.

On what site are you working? The account you’re using to post here does not own any sites on WordPress.com.
If you’re using the open source WordPress software at another host, please ask for help at https://wordpress.org/support/forums instead.
