WordPress stats map

  I’ve noticed that parts of the world map when viewing stats is very inaccurate. For example Africa must be displayed twice as small as it should be, and the UK is almost as long as the USA.

  Is there a reason the map is wrong?

  Which map are you looking at? The UK looks a little longer than France in all of the WordPress stats maps that I’ve seen.

  All two-dimensional map projections of the globe have inherent inaccuracies. The size of Africa has been typically underrepresented on map projections for over 500 years.
