WordPress Theme Used on Website

    Can you tell me which WordPress theme of template or whatever it’s called, was used to create the following website? https://frontofhousephotography.wordpress.com

    Hi,

    It is a theme called Sunspot. However, it is retired and no longer available on WordPress.com.

    It is still available to be downloaded for WordPress sites hosted elsewhere using the open source software from WordPress.org. But as it is retired, it has not been updated in a few years and may have significant compatibility issues.

    Thank you for the helpful info on the Sunspot theme.

    Learning Sunspot is no longer supported inclines me to look for a different theme that is currently supported. What I like about the Sunspot theme is the ability to display large size photos and add captions or titles under the photo.

    I currently have a WordPress website (edwingailits.com), but I’m looking to improve it.
    I did not put my website together and don’t know the name of theme used.

    In my current website I like the simple layout but don’t appreciate how small the photos are displayed. In addition I don’t like that I can’t include a title or caption for each photo because if I add a title and the photo is vertical the title appears on top of the image.

    My followup question: could you recommend a theme or two that is currently supported by WordPress that does what I’m looking for regarding a simple layout that displays photos at a larger size, including a click-through viewer window, and allows titles or captions?

    https://wordpress.com/theme/twentytwentyone is a very new theme and handles full-width photos very well. I recommend trying it out. :)

    I like my first look at the twenty twenty-one theme. How do I find someone to set up the twenty twenty-one theme for me? I want to duplicate more or less what I have except with greater photo sizes and titles or captions for the photos.
    If someone created the various sections of my current website such as ‘Early’ and ‘Recent’ etc, and uploaded a few generic photos then I could go in and add all the photos again.
    Or is it possible to keep all the photos in my current website and have them transferred to the new theme?

    I previewed a live demo of the theme Twenty Twenty-One and the menu, navigation and text all appear more or less as expected but none of the photo galleries appear.

    In the sidebar on the left under Previewing theme Twenty Twenty-One I see:

    Site Identity
    Colors & Dark Mode
    Background Image
    Menus
    Widgets
    Homepage Settings
    Excerpt Settings
    Additional CSS

    What do I need to do to see the photo galleries?

    In the preview, you’d need to navigate to a post or page that has a gallery to see it.

    I believe I’m in ‘preview’ but when I navigate to the page with photos all I see is the text associated with the page and none of the photos.

    The window below ‘You Are Customizing’ says; “The Customizer allows you to preview changes to your site before publishing them.”

    If I click on “Activate & Publish” to see what it looks like when published can I easily revert to the previous theme and everything will return to the way it was before trying the new theme?

    Yes, you can change back to the theme you previously used at any time.

    I can’t make any progress trying to switch my theme from SeedProd to Twenty Twenty-One and have it work the way I would like.
    After switching to the 2021 theme I lose features that are essential to my website. No photo gallery appears and I don’t see how to create a photo gallery using 2021. The 2021 theme appears to be designed as a Blog website that only allows individual photos on a page. I want to click on one photo and have it open into a photo gallery where I have access to viewing up to 100 photos. If you look at my current website (https://edwingailits.com/photography/musicians/recent/) you can see what I mean.
    Am I missing how to create a photo gallery within 2021?
    Or can you point me to a website online that uses the 2021 theme that has photo galleries so I can see how it looks or how some have customized it?

    Ah, there’s the problem.

    Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with A2.

    Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
