wordpress user name doesnt work

  Tried to log in , wordpress says my user name is invalid ?!? I confirmed my acct isnt with wordpress.org i then tried my email address which appears to be my account but my website isn’t there and asks if I want to create one??? HELP! I have got to get in before the end of the day and can’t figure out what the issue is.
