  Please change back my username to @patnaquita instead of @patnqt. It was a mistake :( I keep on getting, ‘Sorry, that username already exists!’ when I just had it before I changed it.

  Correct account: Yes

  You got several warnings, I quote “Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use. If you just want to show your name differently please only change your Display Name.”
  The only solution is to change your display name to patnaquita, https://wordpress.com/support/change-your-username/#change-display-name-nickname

  I overlooked the texts/warnings below. It’s a mistake. Please tell me I can still change it back to @patnaquita.

  No you can’t, that’s how this platform works. You can only change your display name.

  Yes, I’m afraid it’s not possible to recover a username once it is changed. Even staff is not able to help with this. But, I’d like to highlight this useful tip that @staartmees has shared in case you missed it:

  If you just want to show your name differently please only change your Display Name.”
  The only solution is to change your display name to patnaquita, https://wordpress.com/support/change-your-username/#change-display-name-nickname

  That method definitely works and is a way you can use your preferred name of patnaquita if you wish, or even a proper name with capitalized letters and spaces between words. Anything you want really. :)

  You can set that here, under the section that says “Public Display Name” https://wordpress.com/me/account/

  Currently you set yours to “N” but again you can change it to be anything you wish, and that is exactly what will show in the author byline on blog posts, as well as comments you leave on your blog and others as well.
