wordpress using Ubuntu Natty Narwhal
-
I am using wordpress on Ubuntu Natty Narwhal with firefox and openjava and I am not able to use the editor to make a post. There are bugs like:
– You are not able to add a tag. The Add-botton does not respond.
– You are not able to add pictures.
– You are not able to add videos. (for both the same: Nothing happens after hitting the button.)This occured suddenly. Before, everything worked. I did not change my system.
However. Please use less Java. This seems to me to be the problem. From the programming with java, I know that you should always use the newest version of java and of course the sun/oracle release. But in my point of view this is against the independency of platforms. If you create a website, you should be able to use it with every browser.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is a peer support forum where Volunteers ie. fellow bloggers answer support questions. I’m on windows XP using Firefox 7.01. and I can do everything you say you cannot do.
How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.
Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Which browser and version of it are you using? Have your tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookies
Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.
http://browsehappy.com/Do you have third party cookies enabled? Do you have another browser you can try?
You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
If you would like to communicate with Staff then here’s the link. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

> How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?
Via a permanent line. At the moment it is working fine.> Are you using http:// or https://
Usually https:// and for theses services of course https://.> Which browser and version of it are you using? Have your tried clearing your browser cache and cookies?
Firefox 7.0.1. Cookies and cache are deleted each time i close the browser.> Is your browser version up to date?
Yeah… it’s the same you are using.> Do you have third party cookies enabled? Do you have another browser you can try?
All kind of Cookies are enabled. It works with the Google Chromium Browser, I just found out. (But I do not want to use it. I guess Chromium uses its own java and flash.)> You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. …
In this case it is a java problem. Nothing happends if I am clicking on the links. And the links are java, not flash.> If you would like to communicate with Staff then here’s the link.
Oh thank you for your help! I had been on this website but did not see that they closed the support for the weekend.
