  I have a website at http://www.bemindbodywell.com
  It looks like it is on wordpress.com – at least I thought it was.
  I went to register askimet today and it is taking me through the process to set up a website on wordpress.com, saying I do not have a site on there. When I input my web address, it saws that this domain is taken (because it is mine)…can you confirm what I need to do?

  Your website is not hosted by WordPress.com but by Hostgator. To activate Akismet on it you need to follow this guide:
