WordPress website and WordPress.com
-
I have my own domain and I am running WordPress on it.
I was wondering, that if I post something on my own site, does it also appear on the discover page of WordPress.com?
Or is there something I need to do on my website, so people who visit WordPress.com, can also see and find my website? -

Hi there!
To clear up any further confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
We, WordPress.com, are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.
You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this support page:
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
That said, whatever you post on your self-hosted site will only be posted there. If you connect your site to your WordPress.com account with Jetpack, your posts will be displayed in the WordPress.com Reader:
Discover is a blog that’s curated and the editors pick the content to be posted there:

Thanks for the info.
The first part was already clear to me, but the other things are helpful.
