WordPress won’t open on my desktop

  The good news is the clue is right there in your description: it works in private/incognito mode. That tells us the issue is with stored browser data (cookies, cached files, or local storage) on your desktop, and not with your site itself.

  Here’s what I’d recommend trying:

  1. Clear site data specifically for WordPress.com: Rather than clearing all browsing data, target just WordPress.com:

  • In Firefox: Click the padlock icon in the address bar → “Clear cookies and site data” → Confirm.
  • In Brave/Chrome: Click the padlock icon → “Site settings” → “Clear data.”

  Please do this for both wordpress.com and mahkinah.com.

  2. Check if browser sync is restoring old data: If you’re signed into Firefox Sync (or Brave Sync), your old cookies and cached data may be syncing back from the cloud — even after formatting. Try this:

  • Temporarily turn off sync in your browser settings.
  • Clear the site data again (step 1).
  • Then test loading your site.
