WordPress.com account after Akismet
-
I had to create a WordPress.com account when it was required to use Akismet. Now that it has been separated from that I would like to do a few things for house cleaning but there does not seem to be any way. I wonder if you could steer me in the right direction.
Under one WordPress.com login I had several “Blogs” listed one being the primary blog. There does not seem to be a way to change or delete it. I changed that to a place-holder WordPress.com blog but it still wants to associate the login with a site that I will take down. Is there a way to delete these blogs from the list?
Is there a need to have a WordPress.com account to use Akismet or JetPack plugins?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes in both cases.

If I can go to Akismet.com and get an API key how does WordPress.com enter into the picture? I am talking about using Akismet and JetPack on a self hosted WordPress blog, not hosted on WordPress.com.
How can I delete an external blog that had to be part of my WordPress account to use Akismet? I cannot find a way on the WordPress.com dashboard to delete any of the external blogs. Help with this will be much appreciated.
