WordPress.com hosting question

  Hi!
  I’m as new as you can get so please bear with me.

  I just bought a premium theme from theme forest and I’m trying to figure out how to get it up and running. Do I need to purchase hosting? If no, how do I move the files so wordpress can recognize the new theme? Thanks :)

  We cannot add themes at wordpress.COM. We are limited to the 145+ (and growing) themes found in the dashboard under appearance > themes. Themes found on the internet are for self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG.

  You would have to have or register a domain name, hire a web host such as godaddy, bluehost, etc., install the wordpress.ORG software at that host and then you could install the theme you purchased. Figure about $10 to $25 per month all things considered.
