workaround for two-step authentication

    Hello good people. I’m a contributor, not an admin, to the blog I’m referencing here and I’m not much for tech companies or anyone for that matter, having my personal cell phone number unless they absolutely need to. As such, WordPress’ two-step authentication has presented a challenge. I cannot seem to post without giving WordPress and Google my phone number now, either for Google Authenticator or SMS Text. And in order to disable two-step authentication, you still need to have logged in using it once, which brings me back to the problem of submitting my personal contact info against my will in order to post to WordPress.

    Anyone have any ideas on how to get around the two-step authentication process to post to WordPress? Thanks!

    The whole point of Two Step authentication is that it is difficult to get around. If it weren’t, it would be useless.
