Would Like to Unlock Domain Registrar
-
I’d like to unlock my recently transferred domain (transcendmediaproduction.com) so it can be further transferred to another registrar.
I recently made a WordPress.com account, when I actually meant to create a WordPress.org account. This was done prior to choosing a host provider, and when I finally decided on Cloudways, it set up a new account through WordPress.org and installed the Divi Theme as well, which is what I wanted.
I’ve tried several times to transfer the domain from my WordPress.com ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) account to my wordpress.org ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) account, but it won’t work. With all this hassle (undoubtedly my fault) I’d like to transfer the domain to yet another registrar hoping it will fix the issue of not being able to point my domain to the correct site I’m currently working with (https://wordpress-1192070-4198706.cloudwaysapps.com/).
I’m now aware of the 60-day ICANN policy, yet I’m hoping since I have the authentication code that the domain can be unlocked. If not, is there another way I can point my domain to the site I’m working on? I’ve run a WP.org site in the past, but this issue is outside my level of knowledge.
I know … I really messed this up. Any help would greatly be appreciated, as I’m a videographer trying to get a new site built relatively quickly.

Hey there,
As you mentioned, the 60-day lock is from ICANN which means we are not able to remove it. The lock will expire on 2024-03-04. That said, you can point your domain to your new hosting provider using your domains name servers or DNS records. You will need to refer to your hosting provider for information on where to point the domain, but you can follow these instructions to set it up on this end:
DNS records are special settings that control what people see when they visit your domain. They also allow you to connect your domain to third-party services such as an email provider. This guide will show you how to add, remove, and change your domain’s DNS records.
