wp.com themes with category descriptions or advanced category pages

  Hi. I’m looking for a theme included in the wp.com Explorer plan that, at minimum, will display the blog category description–or better yet, has advanced category pages. I browsed through theme demo sites, but even in magazine and lifestyle blogger themes, couldn’t see any sites that display category descriptions. Any recommendations? Or do I just need to create custom pages and add dynamic category feeds to achieve this in wp.com?
