wpforms confirmation message

  I’m trying to change the background and font colour for the wpforms form submission confimation message. Ive found a few bits of code that should do what I want and input them into the additional ccs field in the customize appearance page on the form builder dahsboard but none of them seem to have any effect. I’d like the submission confirmation message to appear as white text on a black background. Any advice?
