Writing Samples Portfolio page

  I am trying to create a portfolio page and it is not working. Unfortunately I nothing about WordPress and this seems complicated. What I am trying to do is respond
  to job postings that say to send a URL with your writing samples. This seems so complicated. Can someone walk me through it?? When I read it, I am not understanding.
