Wrong billing
-
Wordpress charged US$48 in my credit card, but I didn’t buy anything from it. I used to have a WordPress website hosted in GoDaddy 1 year ago, but it was already discontinued.

Hi there,
I would be happy to assist you in cancelling and refunding your purchase. However, the upgrade that was purchased is not associated with the account you contacted us from. To confirm ownership, post in this thread under the username/account that purchased the upgrade. Then, I can look into refunding the subscription purchase.
If you aren’t sure about the charge on your bank statement, you can fill out the form at wpchrg.com and it will help you find the correct account along with what you were charged for. You an also reach out to billing support there directly.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

I am not the owner of the account in which my credit card is registered. I used to work at that company but I left in May/2018. The company does not exist anymore and I can’t contact anyone there, but it seems that my credit card is still registered for billing purposes. I need my refund. Otherwise, I will advise my bank it is a fraud.

Hi –
No problem. You can recover access to the account because you’re the one who paid for the upgrade and/or renewal.
Find the transaction ID and email it to us at
passwordhelp@wordpress.comor submit it in the account recovery form at: -
How can I recovery access to something that is not mine? I left the company in May/2018 and the company ceased their operations by the end of last year.

You can recover access to the account following the guide at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
Alternatively if you enter the charge details at https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ we should be able to help you with this.
If you the charge is located using the above site, but you are not presented further options, please contact us via https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?whywasi=charged

Hi there,
If you have not gotten in contact with a team via https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ yet – All we will need is the transaction ID from the credit card statement in order for us to issue you a refund. That way, we can locate the charge for you in our system and confirm the purchase. If you find that transaction ID, let us know. Do post it in this thread since it is sensitive information – I’ll send you an email in order to retrieve the ID and will proceed with the refund.
Thank you!
