Wrong site name

    Hi, I just joined wordpress and requested a specific web address – the-sower.com, but now what I’m seeing is thesowercom.wordpress.com. I dont like that address, it is not what I want or want to pay for. Is there a way to correct this? My email address is (email visible only to moderators and staff). Thanks, Daniella Ojo

    Hi there,

    the-sower.com is a custom domain you must register and pay for. For the steps on registering a custom domain, please visit our support page:

    In regards to thesowercom.wordpress.com, you inserted the full address into the field (the-sower.com) instead of just the content before the dot (the-sower) and that is what caused the com in your address. Just leave out the com and you’ll get the address you prefer.

    You can change your blog address by going to My Blogs, and clicking the Change Blog Address link that appears when you hover over the address you want to change:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/

    Note that you have the option to choose your user name to match the new blog address. If you choose this option, you will not be able to revert back to the original username, and it can affect profile URLs for other services such as Gravatar or IntenseDebate.
