wrong url for domain blog

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello! I am a GoDaddy customer with a WordPress blog. I changed my domain name for my blog from blog.lbjoramo.com to immortalhistory.com. However, I cannot map immortalhistory.com to blog.lbjoramo.com, which is now extinct. Please help! I really would like the correct URL (http://immortalhistory.com) to the correct blog, which is http://immortalhistory.com. Not to have the extinct URL http://blog.lbjoramo.com mapped to immortalhistory.com

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m not sure I fully understand. You used to have a site blog.lbjoramo.com which was connected to WordPress.com via Jetpack. Now you’ve changed the URL to immortalhistory.com and you need to update the Jetpack link?

    Hi, Shanajroberts! Thanks for replying.
Forgive me for not relaying enough information, but, honestly, I am really not technically savvy.
I don’t know if I need to update the JetPack link or not. Maybe that is the problem. All I know is when trying to connect via the subscription widget set up before I made the change in domain name, it did not change the URL for my blog. Did that make sense? Here’s a screenshot, if I can get it to work, of what a subscriber would get when trying to subscribe to my blog:

    Thank you!

Well, the screenshot didn’t work. Sorry!

No worries! Let’s see if we can sort this out. You can upload that screenshot to your Media Library here so I can see it:

when trying to connect via the subscription widget

If the subscription widget is from Jetpack, then what we need to do is disconnect and reconnect Jetpack. You’ll do this through your self hosted site’s dashboard.

To disconnect Jetpack from WordPress.com, click on Jetpack from your site’s Dashboard and scroll all the way down where you’ll see a link that says “Disconnect from WordPress.com”. Click that to disconnect.

To reconnect, click the green button that says “Connect to Get Started”.

If you’re using some other subscription service, you’ll need to contact them about this. Or you can try the WordPress.org forums:
