Wrongful billing
-
A year ago I asked for help in this forum, to find out how I could change the ownership of a website from me to my son. I followed the directions and was very happy with the help. Among other things, we were told to add my son’s credit card details and remove mine. I thought everything was sorted but now a year later, I have received an account for $18 for the domain name bluepeteraustralia.com … this is wrong! I should no longer be paying anything. I don’t know whether my son has also been charged. Please will you check and see that I am no longer charged for this site. Thank you.

Hi there, I’ve tagged this thread for Staff attention and assistance on the domain issue.
Thanks for your patience while they get back to you as things tend to be a bit slower on the weekend.

Hi there,
The account you’re using to post here owns no sites, have never bought any upgrades from us, and we don’t even have any credit card info on file for you, so we’re not able to help with this.
Please log into the account that owns the domain and open a new support request, or else you can contact our billing support team directly at http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?whywasi=charged so they can verify your payment information to help you with this.

Dear Kokkieh, if you had read my post you would have seen that the site I am referring to is bluepeteraustralia.com I bought this domain through you and then a year ago handed it to my son with the help of people on this forum. I can no longer log into that site because it is not mine! But my credit card is still being charged for the domain name although my son says it has been removed from the site. Please sort this out.

I bought this domain through you and then a year ago handed it to my son with the help of people on this forum.
You, that is, the
barbaraslifewebaccount, did not buy that domain. Your account has never bought anything at all from us. If you don’t believe me, you can view your account billing history at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/That domain was bought by the WordPress.com username account that currently still owns it. You might have bought the domain for your son while logged into that account, and then handed control of that account over to him, but I cannot simply take your word for that.
We cannot make any changes to any upgrade unless it’s the upgrade owner contacting us, or unless the person contacting us have provided evidence in the form of credit card numbers, full names, and statement references that they are in fact the card holder. That information should not be shared here in a public forum, which is why I referred you to our billing support contact form above.
But my credit card is still being charged for the domain name although my son says it has been removed from the site
That domain has very definitely not been removed from the site. You can see for yourself by simply clicking the link: https://bluepeteraustralia.com/

I would like a different staff member to reply to this thread in future. I do not appreciate the attitude of this person who seems to think I am not telling the truth.

First, please don’t post transaction IDs here. These are public forums, and transaction IDs can be used by anyone to claim ownership of your account: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form
As my colleague has already mentioned, you are not currently logged into the account which owns the domain.
You can use that transaction ID to recover access to the account which owns the domain following the steps at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form this will allow you to manage how the domain is billed (when logged in under the correct account) at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/
