xml-rpc login cause wordpress site to ‘login to it self’?

    Hi,

    I’ve got a WordPress site with Wordfence plugin and an IP:99 hosted on a provider.
    There I received an email that the provider had tried to login to my site from their IP:119 through xml-rpc. (That Wordfence blocked)

    When I reached out to them and asked what they were doing I got this reply:
    We suspect that this is because the login attempt was made against xml-rpc must cause the page to connect to itself in a way, and then wordfence blocked the connection that was made so it blocked our IP address.

    So, If i understood everything they said. My WordPress site got an login attempt from IP. 119 and then the site tried to login to itself IP:99 and then blocked the IP:119 because of this?

    I’m novice at this, but this response feels like bullcrap.

    Can anyone help me with this?
