  I have the same issue as this person in this post (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/user-name-error?replies=3#post-6997), but I don’t see a reply as to how to resolve the issue myself.

  Our blog is http://aigabaltimore.wordpress.com. We want to remove the aigabaltimore user. If removing him would also remove the blog posts, then we’d rather change him to a contributor role instead of administrator.

  If that person aigabaltimore set up the blog (site owner) and is the Admin, another Admin can’t remove them or change their role status. The site owner should be able to transfer the blog to another WordPress.com user if they are no longer interested in being the site owner.
