Bio
Albert Anglès was born in 1984 at Tarragona (Spain). Albert holds a PhD in telecommunications, specifically in the field of low power wireless technologies. Since November 2013 he started a research project under the post-doctorate grant FONDECYT Nº 3140045 titled "CHANNEL MODELS FOR LOW-POWER AND FIXED WIRELESS TRANSMISSION TECHNOLOGIES". This project is focused on wireless channel modelling of 60GHz short-range wireless communications for future WiFi-Gigabit (WiGig) applications under the IEEE 802.11ad standard. Dr.Albert carries his research tasks at the Telecommunications engineering school of Universidad Diego Portales, Santiago de Chile.
From 2010 to 2013 Albert was researcher at R&D department of WorldSensing company providing a mutual feedback between the research insights and industrial worlds. He obtained his Master degree in 2010 in Design of Telecommunication Systems and his degree in Telecommunications in 2008 provided by the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. From 2009 to 2010 he was a member of the Signal Processing Communications and Navigation Group at the Univerity. During this time, he carried research tasks focused on tracking and positioning techniques for traffic applications based on Wireless Sensor Networks. Additionally, he developed a tracking simulator under an urban environment and validated his tracking algorithm with an experimental campaign. From 2007 to 2008 he was a member of the same research group. During this time, he focused on evaluating and comparing wireless broadband technologies (IEEE 802.16-2004 with IEEE 802.11a) as wireless local loop access solutions for rural environments. He holds a conference and two journals: an accepted journal (under press) and a journal under review. His research interests include antennas, wireless propagation and routing for application in M2M solutions (WSN and RFID) and for other kind of wireless technologies.
