Bio
Ashfaque Ahmed has over 25 years of experience. He started his career in the steel industry with Steel Authority of India Limited; the largest and most admired company in the steel industry in India as a management trainee. He learned production management, inventory management and marketing management in the Indian steel industry. Later he moved over to software industry and worked for a Canadian software company based out of Montreal as a programmer analyst. In the software industry he learned about software programming and how software helps run a brick and mortar business. From software programming he moved to software testing and then worked as software testing manager and software project manager.
In 2005, he learned SAP Materials management (SAP MM) module and became a SAP MM consultant. Since then he has worked with Global Steel Holdings Limited and SAP Nigeria for implementing SAP solutions for their customers. In his career as SAP MM consultant, he has worked on some challenging assignments which involved implementing variants of standard business scenarios in context of local country specific customizations of SAP MM features.
Ashfaque Ahmed is a well known and popular author. He has written 3 books and many research papers. His book “Software Testing as a Service” was published by CRC Press, USA in 2009. His book “Software Project Management: A Process driven Approach” was also published by CRC Press, USA in 2011. His book on software project management is used as a textbook or reference book at many USA and worldwide universities. Indeed the book presents a cutting edge perspective on many facets on software project management and software engineering.
Now his 3rd book on SAP materials management is also published in 2014 (CRC Press, USA). This book is extremely useful to people who want to learn SAP materials management. Screenshots from live transactions in SAP for all major transaction along with excellent description is presented through out the book. This helps readers to practice simultaneously as they read the book.
Ashfaque Ahmed did his Bachelor of Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Raipur in 1988. He did his MBA from Indira Gandhi National Open University in Marketing Management in 1997.
