Bio
I am a Registered Nurse who had first observed then experienced repetitively, in my 30-year career, something I previously called "leading by intimidation." I realized that some managers use almost identical, emotionally abusive, tactics against their subordinates, oddly, the best workers on staff are frequent targets, for no valid reason. I then came across information on the Internet about a "phenomenon" called "work place bullying and mobbing", which described in detail exactly what I have been observing and experiencing. I finally found the answers I had been searching for, which was why my supervisor, then my coworkers, began and continue to emotionally abuse me and why I had observed this happening to others throughout my career. Bullies, compelled by narcissistic, psychopathic or other personality, mental or emotional disorders, think and manipulate others in ways that are inconceivable to me as well as to most sane people, which led to an almost obsessive desire to fully understand their ways of thinking and how they manage to get others to behave in ways that they normally wouldn't. I learned that most people in the United States and in my state of Connecticut have never even heard of "work place bullying and mobbing". I developed an expertise on the subject based on the study of hundreds of Internet articles and related topics, and by interacting with other "targets" of work place bullying through Internet support forums. It is my mission to reach and teach as many working Americans as possible about the devastating affects of this little known although frequent cause of emotional violence in workplaces, government, as well as religious and voluntary organizations everywhere. I am also one of the founding members of Connecticut BullyBusters, which is an affiliate of "The Workplace Bullying and Trauma Institute", in Bellingham, Washington, USA.
