Bio
I am a Geological Engineer turned geospatial strategist and entrepreneur, working at the intersection of location intelligence, public-sector modernization, land governance, integrated water management, and territorial development.
With over two decades of experience across Senegal, Canada and international cooperation settings, I have built my career around a simple conviction: geospatial information is not just data, it is a strategic infrastructure for better decisions, stronger institutions, and more resilient territories.
As Director of National Mapping at ANAT, Senegal, leading the Directorate of Geographic Works and National Mapping (DTGC) @ANAT, I oversee key national reference data and services, including cartographic databases, geodetic infrastructure, CORS modernization, administrative boundaries, and geospatial platforms supporting public decision-making. My work also contributes to spatial planning, land administration support, and the territorialization of public policies.
Alongside my public-sector leadership, I am also the co-founder and have managed GENHY Conseils, a consulting firm through which I have led multidisciplinary assignments in geospatial analysis, land and environmental studies, project design, field investigations, and institutional support. This entrepreneurial experience has strengthened my ability to translate ideas into operational projects, mobilize expert teams, negotiate with clients and partners, and deliver results in demanding contexts.
I also serve on the boards of strategic national and international institutions, including AGEROUTE, SN ADS SA, and AFRIGIST, where I contribute to governance, infrastructure, territorial development, and geospatial capacity-building agendas.
Internationally, I chaired UN-GGIM: Africa from 2018 to 2022, served in the Extended Bureau of UN-GGIM, and contributed to the United Nations Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (UN-IGIF). I remain deeply engaged in translating global frameworks into practical national implementation pathways.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Geological Engineering, an M.Sc. in Water Sciences with GIS applications (Groundwater Modelling), and an MBA focused on IT Management, combining technical expertise with governance, digital transformation, project design, entrepreneurship, and institutional performance.
My professional focus is clear: helping institutions and territories turn geography, data, and technology into actionable intelligence for development, resilience, and sovereignty.
