Commentary in the guise of flippant humor. Or droll, dry, meta, juvenile, depending. Some people look below the surface, some don't. From the perspective comes the context; from the context comes the _________.
Manic phases lead to more frequent comments of a lighter nature; down phases often lead to the molasses of the obtuse and cryptic. Have fun guessing. Also: vodka and candy cigarettes.
Distance kept can allow for triangulation. There is the person making the character; there is what the character says; there is what is said by what the character says. Again: some people look below the surface, some don't. Surf, Scuba: same ocean.
First draft, usually. Occasional typos, inevitably.
Reoccurring motifs, characters, themes: maybe a Unified Field where it all comes together, maybe not. Some characters take time to develop into who they are, some are conjoined, some are abandoned. Sometimes I play favorites.
