Bio
Bill Swick, who recently retired after forty-two years of teaching guitar, currently writes guitar ensemble arrangements, orchestra arrangements, supplementary teaching materials, and method books for several publishers. Swick has over two-hundred and sixty titles published with J.W. Pepper, over one hundred and eighty titles with Sheet Music Plus and Sheet Music Direct, and a number of titles with Music Prodigy. In addition, he runs and operates BillSwick.com and Guitarintheclassroom.com which publishes guitar classroom materials and a weekly newsletter for secondary guitar teachers. Swick has been identified as a Top Ten Music Educator by the GRAMMY Foundation and is the author of Teaching Beginning Guitar Class: A Practical Guide and Building an Award-Winning Guitar Program: A Guide for Music Educators both published by Oxford University Press. Swick was recently awarded the Celedonio Romero Lifetime Achievement Award for Guitar Education by his son, Pepe Romero and Matt Denman, director of the Romero Institute.
