Bio
Bonita Y. Watson was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate work at Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hearing-Impaired Education in 1988. After teaching hearing-impaired and regular-education children for seven (7) years, Mrs. Watson decided to pursue her other passion, the law. She attended and graduated from Loyola University School of Law in 2000, where she finished in the top 10% of her class.
Throughout her legal career, Mrs. Watson engaged in insurance, toxic tort, business, bankruptcy, domestic and real-estate litigation. Mrs. Watson reads, writes, understands, and speaks Spanish at an intermediate level and is fluent in Sign Language.
She is also a former member of the boards of directors of the New Orleans’ Lighthouse for the Blind and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeast Louisiana, Inc.
