Bio
Howard West is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in publications including Rock & Gem, 4-Wheeler, Golf Digest, Nevada Magazine, and numerous other publications. His research and discoveries have also been featured in interviews on programs such as Coast to Coast AM.
Beyond his professional writing career, Howard has spent decades investigating the oral traditions of American Tribal Nations, as well as the mythology, history, and enduring mysteries of the Eastern Mediterranean world. His research explores ancient legends, enigmatic riddles, and overlooked technologies and communication systems described in historical records and traditional accounts. His work seeks to uncover forgotten connections between mythology, technology, and the historical record.
His latest work, Locked Gates, examines the possibility that forgotten communication technologies and knowledge systems may be concealed within mythology, archaeology, oral traditions, and ancient historical accounts.
When not writing, conducting research, or interviewing tribal historians, elders, and fellow researchers, Howard can often be found exploring remote archaeological landscapes with one or two pack burros. These expeditions take him far beyond established trails in search of historical clues, forgotten sites, and new perspectives on the ancient world. Through both field exploration and historical investigation, he continues to pursue answers to some of history's most intriguing mysteries.
