Bio
Chantelle Warner is Associate Professor of German Studies and Second Language Acquisition and Teaching at the University of Arizona. In both her teaching and research, she works to cross the fields of literary and applied linguistic study, specializing in stylistic and discourse analytic approaches to literature, 20th- and 21st-century German literature, foreign language pedagogy and literacy, and the teaching of culture. Her research considers multiple language use, as a site of struggle, creativity, play, and resistance. In particular, she is interested in the aesthetic, affective and practical dimensions of literacy practices across languages and in how they are evaluated and valued by speakers and readers. She is founding co-editor of the journal Critical Multilingualism Studies. She also co-directs the Center for Educational Resources in Culture, Language and Literacy (CERCLL), a Title IV Language Resource Center at the University of Arizona.
