Bio
David Sisco is a member of the Dramatist’s Guild and BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop (Advanced) and is the author of HERE I AM: A MUSICAL PERSONAL AD, VARIATIONS ON A THEME OF YOU, BAIT n’ SWISH and THE CATBIRD SEAT. David is currently collaborating with book-writer-lyricist Tom Gualtieri on two musicals: FALLING TO EARTH, and I'M AFRAID, YOU'RE AFRIAD: 448 THINGS TO FEAR AND WHY. In January 2015, David was chosen for the New Dramatists Composer-Librettist Studio. Sisco is also a prolific art song composer. A winner of the 2010 NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) Composition Award, David’s songs have been heard at concerts produced by Friends & Enemies of New Music, New Music New York, Joy in Singing, Lyricfest, Songfest, Songfusion and last season at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. David has been commissioned by Manhattan Girls Chorus and Mirari Brass Quintet in the 2014-2015 season. As a singer, David feels at home as a recitalist, musical theater performer and chorister. He sang with The Marble Choir for over thirteen years and recorded four CDs with the ensemble, including the premiere recording of his choral work, “Awake My Heart.” David has served on the faculties at Northeastern and Suffolk University, and currently teaches private voice at Marymount Manhattan College. He also maintains a private studio in New York and leads masterclasses around the country on preparing contemporary art song. He has presented papers at NATS, MTNA and ICVT Conferences. David is part of a cabaret duo with Alexandra Foucard called Comes Love. They frequently perform in Provincetown, New York City and will be traveling overseas this summer to share their unique blend of standards, musical theatre, contemporary, country songs and unexpected mash-ups (comesloveduo.com).
