Bio
I was born in a railway car , not to parents who fed wanderlust by hopping on trains, but to a railway maintenance man and his wife in a trackside hamlet on the Missouri, Kansas Texas Line. Although I don't remember that home, I'm pretty sure the car had been stripped of its wheels and had a proper door and windows.
My name, Raymona spelled with a "y", honors my father, Raymond Roberts, and my mother's fondness for "Ramona," a song popular at the time.
She was quite musical, Halley was, and to my joy I inherited from her a pasably melodic singing voice that brings much pleasure into my life.
A retired journalist and travel writer, I now concoct layered novels about strong women, bold men, and sizzling romance. Each touches a social issue as well. My fun time memories spin through ipursuing nterests shared with my late husband, Curtis. With our sons, we camped and jeeped the Colorado Rockies As empty-nesters we did flea markets, auctions, art galleries, and shared an interest in archaeology and earth sciences.
Nowadays I'm into Scrabble and other table games; and reading crime fiction and historical sagas. Give me lots of plot, please. Writing keeps me happy at home.
Favorite movies run a similar course. One I can watch time and again is The Last of the Mohicans. Each time I thrill over the breath-taking scenery, heart-rending romance, and of course, the musical score. That last scene on the cliff...Wow!
