Bio
I am so excited to share my educational experiences with you!I hope you find my experiences helpful in your educational.
In 2009, I graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in psychology. In 2011, I graduated from Syracuse University with masters degrees in elementary education and special education. I worked at the Swift School in Roswell, Georgia for three years teaching students with dyslexia and other language based disabilities. There, I earned my Orton-Gillingham (OG) certification at the associate level. After relocating, I began working at The Lab School of Washington. I was able to apply my OG certification and I taught 3rd/4th graders with significant reading and writing needs for one year. I managed 30 Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) and rotated code groups with those 30 students. I also have experience working in public school at the middle school level. I co-taught 7th grade and 8th grade English language arts, math, resource math, and a support math class.
In May 2019, I earned my doctorate degree from Northeastern University in teaching, learning, leadership, and curriculum. My dissertation topic focused on sensory integration at the secondary level for students with autism. Now, I work for a non-profit organization that promotes inclusive education and partners with various school districts around Maryland and outside of the state. I am also a contract tutor for LINKZ and I tutor students using the OG methodology. I am also a mother to two beautiful girls, I have a German Shepard, cat, and two birds. I love working out when I can find the time.
