My story
Hi there!
My name is Adrian, hopefully, your future English teacher. Let me tell you how I can help you with your second language. I want to know your objective (learning English to travel or job promotion?). How's your previous experience with English? What are your hobbies, your favourite activities?
With this information, I plan personalized classes taking into consideration what you know already, so not to waste your time and select the vocabulary based on what you like to talk about.
Imagine that you know a bit of English already and do not want to study in a course anymore. Let’s say that your objective is to learn enough because you want to travel to Europe, Canada, America or Asia. I engage with you a good lesson. Well, in our first class I will know all that you can do with your second language. Your difficulties, check your vocabulary, pronunciation etc. After that, you will have activities based on what you need to study while talking about your future trips to other countries.
This is just an example of how I can help you learn your second language. I worked at a high school and at an immigration department where I had the opportunity to work as a teacher and a coordinator. Teaching young learners was only at the immigration department. I enjoy it simply because it makes me a better person, learning more about humanity and its body language, diverse cultures and great folks. This experience qualifies me to prepare a personalized class to help you, with your English.
Have a good day and I hope to see you soon :-)
My best,
Adrian Ciocoiu
____________
A student wrote me a letter and it goes like this:
Talented, creative, spiritual, and enlightened, Adrian Ciocoiu (pronounced Choco-you) has spent the last several years developing his artistic crafts. Creativity has helped him contributing to be a great English teacher. Born to an artistic family with an internationally famous painter for an uncle (Emil Ciocoiu) and an accomplished architect for a father, Adrian was in many ways destined to give back through his creative talents.
Adrian did multimedia design and motion graphics for famous museums like the Maritime Museum, Naturalis Leiden, and the Jewish Historical Museum. He also completed numerous PR freelance projects.
Ultimately, Adrian created these films with the end goal of creating peaceful, future-oriented visual narratives with humanist, interdependent themes. This technique has allowed him to add immense value to visual technique and technology.
Adrian’s techniques and experience are backed by extensive education in the arts. He completed a Bachelor in Fine Arts, which he studied for 7 years in the Netherlands and Belgium. Additionally, he is influenced by the greats like Alfred Hitchcock, Alain Resnais, Richard Linklater, and Steven Jobs.
Some of Adrian’s biggest accomplishments include making a multicam-registration for the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Created in 2009, the show had 2,000 attendees. He also contributed to Clima Futura documentaries at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Adrian is perhaps best known for making an experimental dance video in 2009 called Biorhythm Body Fluids, which resulted in a well-received national tour showing his work.
Adrian also produced the World Ambassador's winning video at the United Nation's One Young World event in London.
He taught a student to make her own videographics and discovered the fun in teaching. Additionally, The Interconnectedness Foundation endorsed him to the Awraham Soetendorp Institute and taught some more creative people with creative thoughts, which led to the trailer for the World of Interconnectedness 2010, filming and producing The National World Day of Interconnectedness.
In 2011, Adrian was an accompaniment for various people (between 5 and 60 years of age) for 2 years at the Foundation RADAR's national anti discrimination support for activities and video productions. At IDFA Amsterdam, Adrian was also an accompaniment to various children's film productions/documentaries. He also amassed a sufficient budget to produce a youth film titled The Compliment, which emphasized youthful idealism and non-violence.
