Bio
Dear reader,
Welcome to Healing Sixties Scoop Trauma.
I am an Ojibway member of Henvey Inlet First Nations, located in Canada. I began this blog in 2012 as a way of empowering my voice. For decades, I was lost in a state of shock, unable to articulate what had happened to me to authorities. I grew up in an dysfunctional violent home. I was stripped of my human dignity. I didn't understand what had happened to me until my 40's.
Although I faced marginalization, I want to inspire the world that trauma recovery is possible. I'm open to sharing the hardships and lessons how I have overcoming mental illness without a diagnosis or treatment from medical professionals. I was hospitalized repeatedly and released without mental health support services. I never got the help I needed.
My education and spirituality saved my life. I know from experience that it's possible to reclaim your life after trauma. Never give up on yourself.
Thank you for visiting my blog.
