Bio
I used to be a primary school teacher - part time- in Leeds. I now work for a security/crowd control company, working at arenas, music venues, festivals and events in Yorkshire. I now have more time to persue my hobbies of wildlife watching, walking, reading and music. I live with my wonderful husband, cat Marmalade and dog, Tetley. I am very lucky where I live as my house backs onto a golf course, with plenty of trees and hedgerow, so plenty of birds and foxes. North Leeds is a great area for walking and with easy access to moors and dales. I can walk out of my house and across the golf course to a lovely area that English Nature manage, across Golden Acre Park "buzzing" with birds and to Adel Dam managed by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, of which I am a member. The Leed Country Way passes nearby and the Harewood area, where they reintroduced Red Kites back to Yorkshire, is but a 5 minute car journey. The Red Kites are now self sufficient, a great success and we often get them flying above our garden.
I love watching the birds that I entice to visit my garden but its a big thrill to find them yourself in the wild open yonder.
I enjoy travelling, exploring and photography. This world has so many beautiful places not least in Britain.
